Healthy ThingsThere are strange things we always think they aren’t healthy or even are harmful. But last researches often undeceive the world of an ancient errors.

1. Chocolate Is Good For Teeth

Studies have found that chocolate is less likely to cause dental decay than other sweet foods. In fact, researchers have found chocolate can protect against tooth decay. It is so successful in combating decay that scientists believe some of its components may one day be added to mouthwash or toothpaste.

So make more chocolatey cookies.

2. Coffee Can Be Healthy

But having six cups or more each day slashed men’s risk by 54% and women’s by 30% over java avoiders.
Of course, the scientists give the customary “more research is needed”… but others count theirs coffee drinking costs.

3. Raw Milk May Make People Healthier

The very thing that makes raw milk dangerous, its dirtiness, may make people healthier, and pasteurization could be cleansing beneficial bacteria from milk. The recent wave of raw-milk busts comes at a time when new evidence is invigorating those who threaten to throw open our borders to bacterial incursion. Public-health officials are infuriated by the raw milkers’ sheer wrongheadedness and inability to correctly interpret the facts, and the raw milkers feel the same way about them. Milk as it emerges from the teat, it seems, is both panacea and poison.

Chewing gum after meals helps to stimulate the production of saliva and overall salivary flow. Saliva helps to wash away and neutralize the acid produced by bacteria in plaque. This acid is responsible for dental decay and bad breath. Chewing gum can also help relieve pressure in your ears and sinuses by encouraging jaw movement.

And “Have you heard that chewing gum and weight loss are closely related?”

I knew that a little bit of dark chocolate everyday was good for the heart, but I wouldn’t have guessed it would help your teeth.

Getting enough sleep is easily the most important thing when it comes to being healthy. It really does have a huge ripple effect even if some people don’t want to admit it or don’t realize it.

Good list but we still have to focus on true science to back up some of the items. See studies like the ones that prove chocolate can be good for teeth are saying as you put “is less likely to cause dental decay”. Sugar is sugar and bacteria in our mouth love sugar and will cause cavities. Can’t agree on the coffee front either just like I don’t agree with the studies that say a glass of wine a day….

And yes gum “may be” good for us as in helping our teeth, except for the aspertame in it, as that is not going to help your liver much.

We have to find out who is sponsoring such studies because many times it is the companies that are selling the products.

But of course can’t argue on the sleep front, it is the best way to stay and keep healthy :)

I agree with you, Evita, I just wanted to show another side of researches and that its possible to talk not only about harm, but favor too.

Wamblings, I like raw milk too. But I don’t drink it often, even pasteurized milk.

Tom, our life is only fun. :)
