9 Ways to Strengthen Brain PowerExtra sleep on weekends, as has recently become known, contributes to strengthen the power of the brain. Here are a few other ways to accomplish the same thing.

Researchers discovered that a few extra hours spent in a horizontal position in the weekend (when people “have a sleep” for all lacks of sleep of the working week), beneficially affect the brain, reinforcing its strength and efficiency.

In this regard, the journalists decided to publish several other methods of positive effects on the brain, which are not too well known to the public. Here they are:

1. Running
Scientists from Cambridge University have found that two joggings per week are able to stimulate the brain. It turned out that after several days of racing hundreds of thousands of new cells are formed in the human brain. Such increase was recorded in those areas that are responsible for forming and processing of memories.

2. Afternoon nap
Science has long suspected that sleep has a beneficial effect on the brain. Afternoon sleep has a regenerating effect, allowing the brain to remove the extra memory as to make space for new information.

3. Foods rich in magnesium
For example, spinach and broccoli. They improve memory and brain power, according to research published in the Neuron magazine.

4. Sunbathing
Scientists have found that sunlight has beneficial effects on intelligence and may prevent the development of dementia.

5. Mowing the lawn
The researchers found that while mowing the lawn the human brain releases a particular substance, which not only reduces the manifestations of stress and makes us happy, but is also capable to prevent the decrease of mental activity in old age.

6. Sex and chocolate
According to Scandinavian scientists, a lot of dark chocolate and a lot of sex greatly increase the strength of the brain. 7. Music lessons for children. In childhood, when the brain is developing more actively, music lessons improve memory.

8. Conversations with your child
Experts note that moms talking with their children help their kids better develop their brains.

9. Tetris
Scientists have repeatedly proved this game, created by Russian programmers, beneficial effects on the brain.
